Accompanied by Jan and Terri (Kiva), we began February
with a land yacht trip to Port Aransas to see Larry
Joe Taylor play at the Third Coast Theater. LJT is not
only a great singer/songwriter, but quite funny. Later, we
had nightcaps at Shorty's Bar. LJT and his band showed up,
and Terri and Deanna had their picture made with the singer.
Nick had to fly to Miami for a business trip in mid-February.
As luck would have it, the Miami Strictly Sail Boat Show was
taking place the day after the business meeting. Nick was
able to spend a day at the boat show, where he had his picture
made with Bob Bitchin and Jody of Latitudes& Attitudes
magazine. Nick and three other Cisco employees also enjoyed
a day of sailing on Biscayne Bay with Capt. Bill Olsen, who
had brought his catamaran from Kemah to Miami for the boat
show. (Capt. Bill helped Nick bring the Brewer 42 across the
Gulf in December.)
For the President's Day weekend, Deanna's mother and stepdad
were our first guests aboard the new Caribbean Soul.
We got lucky on the weather, with 81 degrees and 20-25 knot
southeast winds that made for an exciting sail.
